Reception Class

As three year olds are full of wonder, they engage in activities such as cutting, dry pouring, threading, play-dough etc, in order to develop their fine motor skills. They are introduced to the Alphabet sounds & Numbers, Shapes and primary and secondary colours. Children do pre – writing exercises. Children express themselves through art, music, and movement. They practice math and number concepts using age appropriate materials to sort, count, build and sequence. They develop motor skills and coordination while running, jumping, throwing and gym activities. They are given the opportunity to improve their communication skills during show & tell, story time and circle time. They are given an environment that helps them to develop writing, increase vocabulary and use language.
