About the Activity

Our Mini Yogis class takes the ancient practice of yoga and translates it into a fun, storytelling experience for kids. We don't just do poses; we become trees, roaring lions, and stretching cats. This activity teaches children how to center themselves, control their breathing, and stretch their bodies safely. The sessions are designed to be calming yet engaging, helping energetic children learn the value of stillness and focus. It provides a wonderful counterbalance to their busy days, teaching emotional regulation tools they can use inside and outside the classroom.
Emotional Regulation

Breathing techniques help children manage anxiety, excitement, and stress.

Flexibility & Balance

Promotes healthy muscle growth and prevents injury during other sports.

Concentration

Holding poses requires focus, which translates to better attention spans in school.

Body Awareness

Teaches children to listen to their bodies and understand their physical limits.

Through my extensive yoga practice and experience working with children, I’ve seen firsthand how vital it is to teach kids to stretch and relax simultaneously. I focus on helping our ABC kids improve their flexibility while staying present and mindful.
